CORPORATE
Our ambition to grow as a business and increase our influence are continuing to take shape.
We have kept up the momentum this year on building safety; working with the Government on its Building a Safer Future initiative to improve building safety. This year we launched a new safety standard promise which pulls together a range of measures implemented to further enhance the safety in high-rise buildings.
Our ethical lettings agency Salix Living has been recognised for its efforts tackle the homelessness crisis in Greater Manchester at the 2019 24 Housing Awards. Salix Living, which is the private sector leasing arm of Salix Homes, has been Highly Commended in the Best Homelessness Scheme category.
Work continues to build new affordable homes, with a raft of developments either underway or in the pipeline. We also transformed a former women’s hostel that had stood empty for years into much needed social housing.
We are continuing to play a key role in influencing the housing sector across the Greater Manchester region, working together with the regions housing providers to increase the supply of affordable homes, tackle homelessness and create jobs and growth throughout the region.
ARE WE ON TRACK?
By 2020 we will have a thriving business that is recognised as a leader and key partner in Salford and wider regions. But how will we know when we’ve achieved it? Here’s how we’re getting on:
FOCUS ON…
Our Safety Standard Promise
As an advisor to the Government on their Building a Safer Future programme, we are proud to be leading the way on building safety across the sector. In 2019 we launched a new standard of safety for our high-rise buildings. The new ‘Safety Standard Promise’ pulls together a range of measures that make our high-rise buildings even safer.
These include dedicated property safety officers, state-of-the-art fire alarm systems and a clear process for residents to report any concerns.
